A major new commission by Raqs Media Collective will be exhibited as part of the third edition of the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale: In Interludes and Transitions / "في الحِلّ والترحال”, directed by Nora Razian and Sabih Ahmed.
Entitled Something Rare to Lose, the installation is comprised of sculptural, video and sound elements, featuring a pair of delicate glass lungs positioned under a bell jar. The work proposes an expansive vision of the human body and the life it holds, situating the question of embodiment as central to consciousness (and vice-versa).
