Breathing Bay, organized and produced by the Port Authority of Santander (APS) in collaboration with the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP), constitutes a representative selection of the most recent work by Juan Uslé, a leading figure in the first generation of artists who exhibited their work in the galleries of the Port of Santander.
The exhibition coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Palacete as an exhibition hall—it was renovated in 1985 by the APS—and is part of a particularly significant year for the artist himself, who will be the subject of a major retrospective at the Museo Reina Sofía in the Autumn, in addition to exhibition projects at the Torre de Don Borja and in galleries in London and New York. Juan Uslé (Santander, 1954), had his first exhibition at the Palacete as part of the Port City Activity program in 1986.
