Taking place in the Firstsite cinema on Saturday 13 – Sunday 14 May, explore the themes of BIG WOMEN in depth through this special film programme, curated by Sarah Lucas. See films featured in the BIG WOMEN exhibition on the big screen, alongside additional films and works, including some films never screened to the public before.
Fiona Banner aka The Vanity Press will show a selection of video works including: Phantom, 2015, For Squid not Quid, (unfinished film), 2020 and Pranayama Organ, 2021.

Curated by Sarah Lucas, BIG WOMEN is a group show featuring the work of twenty high-profile female artists, including Fiona Banner aka The Vanity Press.
Banner will be exhibiting her verbal portrait, Nude Standing (2003–5) which describes a nude woman in minute detail: from the colour of her hair to the texture of her skin. Her skill with words allows her to go where she could not tread with conventionally figurative art.
