Frith Street Gallery le Molière

10 - 26 Oct 2025
Overview

Frith Street Gallery is coming to Paris this autumn. To coincide with the art fair weeks in London and the French capital, we are delighted to announce a special pop-up exhibition featuring our artists at 40 rue de Richelieu in the 1st arrondissement, the site of the last residence of the great 17th century writer Molière.

Announcing the project, Frith Street Gallery Director Jane Hamlyn said:

“I am delighted to realise a long-held desire for the gallery to have a presence in Paris. Many of our artists have enjoyed great exposure in museums and galleries around the world, but over the past decade there have been fewer opportunities to see their work in France”.

Pieces by Polly Apfelbaum, Fiona Banner aka The Vanity Press, Anna Barriball, Massimo Bartolini, Dorothy Cross, Tacita Dean, Marlene Dumas, Shilpa Gupta, Callum Innes, Jaki Irvine, Małgorzata Mirga-Tas, Cornelia Parker, Raqs Media Collective, John Riddy, Thomas Schütte, Daniel Silver, Dayanita Singh, Bridget Smith, Nancy Spero, Fiona Tan, Juan Uslé and Daphne Wright will be exhibited across the ground and first floor gallery spaces.

Frith Street Gallery le Molière is located by Jardins du Palais Royal and a short walk from major cultural landmarks such as the Louvre, the Bourse de Commerce, Collection Pinault and the new Fondation Cartier pour l'Art Contemporain.

The London gallery originally opened in 1989 in a Georgian townhouse in Soho, moving to a large purpose-built space on nearby Golden Square in 2007.

Dayanita Singh will be in conversation at the space on Saturday 11 October (details to follow).
