7” white vinyl record, signed on label, in printed record sleeve and box. Duration: each side 5 minutes 11 seconds. Edition of 50 + 5 APs. Cornelia Parker’s, ‘Sitting Thinking About Explosions in a Small Quiet Room’ 2012, was originally commissioned for the exhibition ‘Silences’ (2012) at Temple Contemporary, Philadelphia. It is a recording of a performance in which the artist, as the title says, sits and thinks about explosions: extreme, noisy and alarming thoughts in a serene setting. The resulting track is a combination of Parker’s breathing and the sound of the stylus cutting through vinyl.
