WRIGHT
Listening Posts by Daphne Wright and writer, Johnny Hanrahan is a permanent, commemorative sculpture with a major difference; it incorporates a constantly evolving sound score
which will be active day and night. Commissioned by Cork City Council to create a marking of all those who emigrated from Cork over many decades on the famous
Innisfallen Ferry, Wright and Hanrahan chose to create four modest, beacon-like stainless steel forms which are placed at intervals on the edge of the quay from which
emigrants began their night journey to Britain and beyond. The 'Listening posts' will be launched in September 2006 along with a publication on Wright and Hanrahan's inter-disciplinary project 'Croon.'
A publication documenting Wright's commission in the Gorbals redevelopment, Glasgow will be published later this year.

This book documents the empty internal spaces of a variety of London clubs, from the
Kurdish Community Centre, to the Masons, the Fabian Society, the Indian Workers Association and the National Association of Flower Arrangers. The photographs provide a
resonant and evocative portrait of rich hidden worlds operating within the city, revealing the interior spaces where communities gather.
